This is the metal I always wanted to make. Metal has been such a huge part of my life, starting with Black Sabbath, Megadeth, and Metallica. Soon came Slayer, Carcass, and Cannibal Corpse, followed by my discovery of black metal like Mayhem, Immortal, and American stuff like Acid Bath, Soilent Green, and in 1999, one of my all time favorites: Goatwhore.

Discovering Strapping Young Lad in the early 00's birthed my desire to form a solo project incorporating the aggressive rock stuff and electronic elements which would finally be realized as Here On Mars.

Though some metal elements do poke through in some of the HOM stuff I've done, I never did make the true "metal" music I wanted to, because I didn't think I would end up with something that I would be satisfied with. I'm more picky about metal than any other music; it has to be just right.

I finally decided to give it a shot and this EP is the result, and I am happy to say it's just the right amount of worship of my favorite metal bands and something with a little bit of me in it as well.

This is heavily inspired by stuff I've been listening to a lot this last year: Goatwhore, Carcass, Vallenfyre, Mayhem, and Immortal. It can't hold a candle to any of that, but that's the stuff I love and keep going back to.

This won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I hope that the metalheads out there enjoy it.
